Traveling to North Idaho
Spokane International Airport (IATA: GEG, ICAO: KGEG, FAA LID: GEG) (website:http://www.spokaneairports.net/) is a commercial airport about 5 miles (8 km) west of downtown Spokane. It is the primary airport for Spokane, eastern Washington, Coeur d’Alene, and northern Idaho. It is the second largest airport in Washington, with over 3 million passengers in 2010.
There are direct flights from major US and Canadian cities including Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Seattle and Vancouver. The airport is served by major airlines including United, Northwest, Delta, Alaska and Air Canada.
Spokane International Airport provides 24 gates on 3 concourses. Gates on Concourse A are numbered 11–15, gates on Concourse B are numbered 1–10, and gates on Concourse C are numbered 22–25 and 30–32. From the airport you can get to the Coeur d’Alene area by taxi, rental car and shuttle bus service. Most of the major rental car services are available in the baggage claim area, and taxis and buses are also available at the arrivals terminal. Greyhound Bus service is available directly to Coeur d’Alene as well.
If you’re driving to the Coeur d’Alene area, reaching the city is easy from Interstate 90. Spokane, Washington is only about 30 miles away, while Seattle is about 300 miles, and Boise is almost 400.
